The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) welcomes the achievement by the Private Healthcare Information Network (PHIN) and the private healthcare industry of the ‘gold milestone’ of full compliance with the CMA’s Private Healthcare Market Investigation Order 2014.

The CMA introduced the Private Healthcare Market Investigation Order 2014 (Order) to help private healthcare patients to choose the best hospital and consultant for their needs. The Order requires private hospitals to submit performance data and consultants to submit their fee data to PHIN for publication on PHIN’s website.
The CMA is happy to confirm that the gold milestone has been achieved by PHIN, meaning that private hospitals and consultants are complying with the transparency provisions of the Order.
