CMA letter to Danske Bank on breaches of the NI PCA Banking Order

Letter to Danske Bank about its non-compliance with the Northern Ireland Personal Current Account Banking Market Investigation Order 2008.


Letter from CMA to Danske Bank


Danske Bank reported the following breaches to the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA):

  • From January 2017 to August 2018, failure to include wording reminding customers that they can close the PCA and seek to obtain PCA services from a different bank; and where the customer can find further information on the process of how to do this

  • From January 2017 to August 2018, failure to provide a copy of the Switching Leaflet to customers

This letter sets out the action agreed between the CMA and Danske Bank to remedy the breaches of the Order. For information on the CMA’s review of the NI Banking PCA Order see the case page.
