21 February 2024 - Headline intentions for further tender opportunity planned for 2024 Standard Civil Contracts published
A headline intentions document is now available from the ‘documents’ section above. It sets out our approach for the further tender opportunity planned for the Standard Civil Contract 2024.
The LAA intends to award contract work under this process to commence on or around 1 September 2024 and the tender opportunity opens on 18 March 2024.

19 October 2023 – Publication of a partial cancellation notice relating to the procurement process for Civil Legal Aid Services in England and Wales from 1 September 2024
Today the LAA has cancelled the procurement process for the Housing Loss Prevention Advice Service (“HLPAS”) in Hull.

We have today published the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document relating to the Procurement Process for Civil Legal Aid Contracts from 1 September 2024.

The deadline for submitting a tender through this procurement process is 17:00 on 17 October 2023.

Applicants should read the latest version of the Immigration Specification where they intend to tender to deliver Contract Work in the Immigration and Asylum Category of Law, including Detained Duty Advice Scheme and Detained Asylum Casework.

Applicants are required to refer to Version 2 of the Award and HLPAS ITTs when preparing their Tender.
13 September 2023 – Tender for 2024 civil contract opens
The Legal Aid Agency (“LAA”) is inviting Tenders to deliver the publicly funded civil legal aid services from 1 September 2024 under the 2024 Standard Civil Contract in the following Categories of Law:
- Family;
- Housing and Debt and Welfare Benefits;
- Immigration and Asylum (including work at Immigration Removal Centres (IRCs));
- Mental Health;
- Community Care;
- Claims Against Public Authorities;
- Clinical Negligence;
- Public Law;
- Family Mediation;
- Education; and
- Discrimination.
Alongside tenders for the above Categories of Law, applicants may also tender for Housing Loss Prevention Advice Service (HLPAS), commencing on 1 September 2024. HLPAS will be delivered in 106 HLPAS Areas across England and Wales.
Tenders must be submitted using the LAA’s eTendering system and must be submitted by 17:00 on 17 October 2023.
Applicants may submit any questions they have via eTendering by 11.59pm on 26 September 2023. Answers will be published in the week beginning 2 October 2023.
