Details

This publication analyses the characteristics of children whose social care assessments recorded that they had been affected by child sexual abuse or sexual exploitation.

It also:

  • analyses those children’s journeys through social care
  • makes comparisons to police recorded crime data
  • analyses serious incident notifications data

The Department for Education commissioned this in response to the national audit on group-based child sexual exploitation and abuse.

It forms part of the government’s response to recommendation 9.
