The UK National Screening Committee recommends vision screening for 4 to 5 year old children and local authorities are responsible for this as part of the healthy child programme.
Public Heath England has developed a set of national resources to support the commissioning and delivery of high-quality, consistent services.
These consist of:
- e-learning module for child vision screeners
- service specification
- screening competencies
- learning and assessment flowchart
- teacher information sheets
- screening pathway
- diagnostic pathway
- template letters
The red text in the letter templates indicates the parts to complete or adapt locally.
Print ready artwork is provided for printing the parent leaflet.
