The Charity Commission proceeds with its proactive work to target charities failing to submit accounting information within statutory deadlines.

The Commission’s proactive work ensured that compliance issues in 48 charities have been addressed through its pre-inquiry and inquiry work resulting in over £22 million of charity income now being accounted for.

The Commission also found that 19 charities had ceased to exist or do not operate and were therefore removed from the register of charities.
