The consultation responses suggest that charities which provide public services are likely to experience undue pressure on their independence, finances and purposes.
If asked to deliver public services, charity trustees should:
- stay independent and not be influenced by funders
- stick to the mission in hand and not stray from their original aims
- always act in the best interest of their charity
