Public services are services that are normally carried out by local authorities.

Charities who are thinking about carrying out public services need to consider:

  • whether they can deliver the public service
  • if charity funds can be used to contribute towards the service
  • if there are any legal requirements

This guidance to public service gives an overview of the legal and good practice issues that charities need to consider.
