Robust monitoring and evaluation should be at the heart of government decision-making and inform where to target public spending to deliver the most value for the public. This Evaluation Strategy recognises the importance of monitoring and evaluation in the Cabinet Office and across government. The strategy sets out a vision for proportionate, high-quality monitoring and evaluation to be used consistently across the Cabinet Office. To support this vision the strategy sets out actions to improve evaluation governance, capability and standards, and provides progress on our previous strategy.
