Building control performance standards

Building control performance standards and supporting guidance for building control bodies.

The Building Control Performance Standards Advisory Group (BCPSAG), a subcommittee of the Building Regulations Advisory Committee, has drawn up a set of building control performance standards. These help ensure that the competition between local authorities and approved inspectors does not drive down standards and also encourages consistent application of building control functions between building control bodies.

The current set of standards and guidance, which represent current best practice, were introduced in 2013. BCPSAG keeps the standards and guidance under review to help ensure that they continue to meet customer expectations.”
