Details

The purpose of this divisional circular letter is to inform building control bodies of the amendment regulations which revoke the authorisation of:

  • HETAS Limited only in respect of the installation of oil-fired combustion appliances or oil storage tanks and the pipes connecting them to combustion appliances
  • BSI Assurance UK Limited only in respect of third party certification of electrical installations in dwellings

As neither scheme operator had any registered members carrying out these types of work no transitional arrangements are needed in respect of any work being carried out.

The guidance in this circular letter applies to buildings and building work in England, and also to excepted energy buildings in Wales.

The department has also published circular 02/2014 to accompany the laying of the amendment regulations (SI 2014/2362).
