This note provides a summary on the use of Build Now, Pay Later on the disposal of surplus public sector land following the commitment made in Laying the Foundations: A Housing Strategy for England to maximise the use of Build Now, Pay Later payment models where there is market demand, it represents value for money and is affordable.

It gives an overview of what Build Now, Pay Later is, the advantages it brings to landowners and developers, and the Build Now, Pay Later terms which Government Departments will ask developers to bid on when they are disposing of their land.
