The Environment Agency has received an application to vary an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 involving substantial change to a permit from Viridor Avonmouth Waste Services Limited.

This substantial variation application is to vary the facility’s S5.1 A1(b) activity (The incineration of non-hazardous waste in a waste incineration plant with a capacity of 3 tonnes per hour or more) to increase the tonnage of waste processed at the facility from 376,500 tonnes per annum to 427,050 tonnes per annum and to add a number of new waste codes to the permit.
