Brian Hey, Mary Nilar Hey, Timothy Brian Hey, Sonia Romayne Poskitt and Stephen Guy Poskitt, trading as Hambleton Abstraction Partnership, have applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from the Derwent Sherwood Sandstone at National Grid Reference (NGR) SE 77350 27038.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 103.2 cubic metres an hour

  • 2,477 cubic metres a day

  • 60,000 cubic metres a year

  • between April and October inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for the filling of a pond at NGR SE 76630 27561 for subsequent spray irrigation.

Further details are: The proposed annual quantity will be in aggregate with other licenses held by the applicant. There will be no overall increase to the annual quantity as a result of this proposal.
