Breast screening service models

The following examples of possible breast screening service models show:

  • where accountability of the screening director lies
  • who is responsible for reporting performance

This includes where elements of diagnosis or therapeutic surgery are provided by both internal and external organisations.

Blue boxes indicate areas where the screening director is responsible for service delivery.

Orange boxes indicate where a local organisation or external provider is responsible for oversight of performance and reporting performance to a professional lead.
