Bovine (live) model health certificates: version history

Applies to England, Scotland and Wales

Competent authorities in EU and non-EU countries must provide a health certificate to exporters of animals and animal products to Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales), the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.

Competent authorities should use the updates below to make changes to health certificates for exporters to ensure they are in line with the current version of the model health certificates.

GBHC012E BOV-X (domestic bovine animals for breeding or production) from EU countries 206/2010

Version 4.1

Published November 2023:

  • This certificate will be accepted until 29 April 2024. This is the last date (inclusive) that this certificate will be accepted, based on the date it was signed, not the date the consignment arrives in Great Britain.
  • II.2.1(d):- third option “BTV” renamed “bluetongue”
  • II.2.1(d):- third option added “than 24 months” (“or obtained official bluetongue free status if longer than 24 months”)
  • II.2.1(d):- third option replaced “those officially reported or suspected to be present anywhere” with “those officially reported anywhere”
  • Notes:- footnote (14) all instances of “BTV” renamed to “bluetongue” and added “particular” (“or a particular strain”)

Version 4.0

Published October 2023:

  • II.2.1 (d):- added footnote (14) to third option to clarify animals cannot be exported without vaccination.
  • II.2.1(d):- third option replaced “and has not been free for 24 months from bluetongue” with “and has not been free for at least 24 months from bluetongue or obtained official BTV free status if longer;” .
  • II.2.1(d):- third option replaced “ which are those present in the source population as demonstrated through a surveillance programme (12) in an area with a 150km radius around the holding(s) of origin described under box reference I.11.,” with “which are those officially reported or suspected to be present anywhere in the whole territory during at least the preceding 24 months”.
  • II.2.3(a):- replaced “ 60 days” with “90 days”
