Biodiversity Finance Trends Dashboard 2025

Details

In December 2022, at the 15th UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) Conference of the Parties (COP) in Montreal, Canada, the Kunming Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF) was agreed by 196 countries. This landmark deal set a global commitment to halt and reverse biodiversity loss by 2030.

To deliver this ambition, we must mobilise more finance from all sources to bridge the US $700 billion annual biodiversity funding gap, as agreed under the KMGBF.

This dashboard launched by Defra Secretary of State, Rt Hon Emma Reynolds on 9 October 2025 at the UK’s pre-COP event at the Natural History Museum, London, uses the latest available data – some being preliminary – to track progress against the KMGBF finance targets. The dashboard helps identify where action is needed.

The full version of the dashboard was published on the Biodiversity Finance Trends website. An accessible version providing the most important information is available on this page.
