The triennial review of the Big Lottery Fund was announced by a written ministerial statement on 21 November 2013. The review looked at the continuing need for the functions and form of the organisation and included a call for evidence. It examined the Fund’s control and governance arrangements, as well as its efficiency and effectiveness.

The Big Lottery Fund is a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Cabinet Office. It distributes 40% of all the money raised for good causes by the National Lottery.
