The Environment Agency has received an application to vary an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 involving substantial change to a permit from European Metal Recycling Limited.

European Metal Recycling Ltd (EMR) are looking to build a pilot plant which will allow them to assess the practicality of recovering metals from battery units and a small range of similar wastes.  The pilot plant is to be installed at EMR’s existing site at Duddeston Mill Trading Estate which is currently permitted for the shredding of lithium ion batteries and the operation of a small scale waste processing facility.
