The Environment Agency has received an application to vary an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 involving substantial change to a permit from VEOLIA ES (UK) LIMITED.

Regulated facility type

Minworth Battery Reuse and Recycling Facility (formerly known as Minworth Waste Management Centre). Veolia is seeking to develop the battery operations with the installation of a shredder and associated air and water emission abatement equipment. The shredding facility will allow the shredding of secondary lithium-ion (Li-ion) and primary lithium batteries so that they are rendered safe for transport prior to TFS shipment to Veolia’s facility in Metz, France, for material separation and metal recovery.
