​This updated non-statutory guidance is being published in relation to the Hazards in Social Housing (Prescribed Requirements) (England) Regulations 2025, also known as Awaab’s Law. These regulations came into force on 27 October 2025. 

The government has also published:

• separate guidance on Awaab’s Law for tenants in social housing

• further guidance to support the implementation of Phase 2 of Awaab’s Law
