Aquazoom Ltd has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application (in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006).
The application is for a full licence to abstract water from the River Gowy at Grange Farm, Mickle Trafford, Chester CH2 4EB at National Grid Reference SJ 45066 70860.
The application is to abstract water all year as follows:

The water will be used for hydro-electric power production via an Aquazoom 13 vortex turbine installed within a 20 metre purpose built, covered channel adjacent to the River Gowy. All water abstracted will be returned to the River Gowy 20 metres downstream of the abstraction point
