Recommendation 1
The Norwegian Food Safety Authority (NFSA) to ensure internal audits are conducted focusing on the implementation of aquatic animal health controls in accordance with Article 6 of the Official Controls Regulation 2017/625.
Norway response
The Norwegian Food Safety Authority has recently carried out a reorganization. The next step is to consider how to set up our internal audits. The plan for this will be in place within the next 6 months.
Great Britain comments
The audit team acknowledges the NFSA commitment to address the recommendation and looks forward to receiving the updated audit plan when completed.
Recommendation 2
The NFSA to ensure the standard operating procedures for official controls at compartment level are based on the AHL requirements and include instructions on approval, monitoring and withdrawal of approval.
Norway response
A standard operating procedure (SOP) on how to establish, maintain and suspend/withdraw disease free status in compartments and zones will be implemented by the end of 2025. The SOP will follow the requirements of AHL, (EU) 2020/689 and other relevant EU legislation.

The audit team acknowledges the NFSA commitment to address the recommendation and looks forward to receiving the updated SOP when completed.
Recommendation 3
The NFSA to ensure simulation exercises for listed salmonid diseases are carried out in accordance with the requirements of Article 45 of the Regulation (EU) 2016/429.
Norway response
This recommendation will be addressed in the contingency plan for the Aquaculture division, by the end of 2025.
