About the programme
Step up to social work is an intensive, 14-month, full-time programme for trainee social workers. Trainees will work in a local authority, gaining hands-on practitioner experience and academic learning. Successful trainees will be awarded a postgraduate diploma in social work once they complete the programme, allowing them to register and practice as a social worker.
We particularly encourage applications from male and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates as we aspire to make the programme, and the profile of social work practitioners, more diverse and representative of the children, families and communities they support.
