Apply to be an authorised animal feedingstuffs manufacturer and/or distributor.

Your premises must be authorised by us if you:
- manufacture and distribute specified feed additives (SFAs)
- manufacture and distribute intermediate feedingstuffs containing SFAs and/or veterinary medicinal premixes
- manufacture complementary or complete feedingstuffs containing SFAs
- manufacture or distribute complete feedingstuffs containing veterinary medicinal premixes
These are known as schedule 5 activities as described in The Veterinary Medicines Regulations 2013 (legislation.gov.uk) (VMR).
We authorise and inspect feed businesses carrying out these activities in England, Scotland and Wales.

Applications forms
Apply using either the manufacturer or distributor application form.
A condition of Authorisation is the completion of a manufacturer or distributor hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) plan.
We will send you a HACCP plan template when we receive your application.
Fees
There is a fee for an application for authorisation and for the initial inspection of each premises on which a schedule 5 activity takes place. There are also ongoing annual and inspection fees.
