Details

Please note that the legislation on applications for parental orders under the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act 2008 was changed on 3 January 2019 to allow sole applicants to apply for such orders.

We are currently updating the C51 application form to reflect this change. In the meantime, sole applicants should strike through any information which does not apply to them i.e. substituting ‘applicants’ for ‘applicant’. Court staff have been made aware of these temporary arrangements whilst the current form is being updated.

If you have previously not qualified for a parental order as an individual, you have a six month period in which to retrospectively apply as a `sole applicant’ until 3 July 2019.
