Work permit applications

Work permit applications in the canton of Zurich must be submitted via the ZHservices online portal, which requires registration through a Zürikonto account.

For transferring to the Swiss branch of a UK-based company, or working for a Swiss company on a Swiss employment contract, as well as for applications for providing long term services to a Swiss client, the application must include all required information and documents.

The form asks for:

  • personal information (name, date of birth, nationality, address, marital status, parents’ names, dependents)
  • employer information (company name, contact person, billing address in Switzerland, type and duration of employment, employer’s registered office, work location)
  • details about the stay in Switzerland (length, address, previous stays, embassy for visa if needed)

In addition to the required form you will need to provide copies of your:

  • employment contract or assignment agreement
  • passport
  • CV
  • relevant qualifications
