Work permit applications
Work permit applications must be filed with the labour market authority. The application must be submitted via email info.dgem@vd.ch. Only PDF format is accepted. The processing time is typically 6 to 8 weeks.
For applications for transferring to the Swiss branch of a UK-based company, or working for a Swiss company on a Swiss employment contract, as well as for applications for providing long term services to a Swiss client, your employer must complete a 1350 form (on the Vaud Canton website).
The form asks for:
- purpose of your stay (employment, service provider)
- permit type
- your personal information (name, gender, nationality, civil status, residence address)
- employer information (address, type of activity, employee’s role and planned activity)
- working conditions (weekly working hours, gross salary, paid expenses, planned start date)
In addition to the required form you will need to provide copies of your:
- employment contract or assignment agreement
- passport
- criminal record
- CV
- relevant qualifications
