Details

The Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) is the policy lead for government on antibiotic resistance in animal health. However, the work of the VMD regarding antibiotic resistance and the responsible use of antibiotics is not just limited to the policy area but is embedded into much of the day-to-day activity.

The purpose of this document is to demonstrate this through four broad themes:

  • How we regulate what we have
  • How we gather evidence to shape the future
  • How we influence the bigger picture
  • How we engage with others
