Details

In this context the Physicians’ Assistant (Anaesthesia) is a non-medical practitioner working as part of the anaesthesia team. The parameters for the role are defined in the role description and in the Royal College of Anaesthetists’ (RCoA) statements on supervision and working practices.

The curriculum framework is intended to guide the education and development of the practitioner through all of the teaching and learning activities in the work based and other learning environments. Assessment, which is integral to all teaching and learning activities, forms part of this framework.

Teachers in all settings should use this framework to plan the education of the practitioner and to maximize learning opportunities in all environments.
