10 April 2015: promotion of Covonia by Thornton and Ross

As part of MHRA’s regular review of advertising, we reviewed the Thornton and Ross website. We were concerned that advertising of traditional herbal medicines in their Covonia range suggested that the efficacy of these medicines had been demonstrated.

Thornton and Ross agreed to amend the material to ensure that it was clear that they were traditional herbal medicines, and that their indications were based on traditional use only.
