MHRA reviewed an advert for Januvia (sitagliptin) produced by MSD and published in the British Medical Journal (BMJ).
There were concerns that the advert was misleading as it did not give enough prominence to the dosage restrictions and monitoring requirements for patients with renal impairment.
MSD agreed to amend the advert to ensure the restrictions for sitagliptin in renal impairment are made clear in the summary of product characteristics.
