Details

The Environment Agency of England and Wales is responsible for the authorisation of releases of a wide range of chemicals from industrial processes. As part of the permitting process the Environment Agency requires soundly based information on the levels of particular substances which are likely to lead to no significant harm to human health and the natural environment.
