This guidance is for use by those responsible for KS1 teacher assessment (TA) and moderation, including:
- school leaders, staff and governing bodies in maintained schools, academies and free schools, and participating independent schools
- local authorities
The guidance sets out the statutory duties relating to KS1 TA. It also provides non-statutory guidance to support the development of rigorous and proportionate assessment processes.
In addition, it provides information about the changes that we have made to the frameworks for statutory TA, including a new more flexible approach to assessing English writing.
