Baroness Wilcox

Biography

Baroness Wilcox was Parliamentary Under Secretary for Business, Innovation and Skills from May 2010 until September 2012. She is a Conservative member of the House of Lords.

Education

She was educated at St Dunstan’s Abbey, Devon, St Mary’s Convent, Wantage, and Plymouth Polytechnic.

Political career

She has served in a number of posts including Opposition Whip and Opposition Spokesperson for Treasury, Cabinet Office, Trade and Industry, and Energy and Climate Change.

In 1996 she was made a life peer as Baroness Wilcox, of Plymouth in the County of Devon.

Career outside politics

Baroness Wilcox has run a family business in Devon. She has served as President of Pecheries de la Morinie, 1989 to 1991 and Chair of Morinie et Cie, 1991 to 1994, both in France. She was chair of the National Consumer Council from 1990 to 1996.
