Andy King

Biography
Andy King joined Companies House in September 2025 as Chief Executive and Registrar of Companies for England and Wales.
Before joining Companies House, Andy was Chief Operating Officer at Defence Business Services (DBS) within the Ministry of Defence (MOD) where he was also Head of the Operational Delivery profession. He has also held senior roles at the Rural Payments Agency within the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra), the Environment Agency and Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency. Andy started his career at the Home Office where he was also seconded to a development agency.
Chief Executive, Registrar of Companies
The Chief Executive and Registrar for England and Wales is responsible for:
- incorporating and registering companies
- taking action if a company fails to file the documents required under the Companies Act 2006, which may involve dissolving companies or penalising directors
- making company data available to the public
- the day to day running of Companies House
