Rt. Hon David Jones MP

The Secretary of State for Wales, David Jones has extended his congratulations to all Welsh recipients of the New Year’s Honours 2014.

Secretary of State for Wales, David Jones MP said:

I’m delighted to extend my warmest congratulations to everyone who has been recognised in the New Year’s Honours list. These honours recognise only those that have given their utmost and enriched the lives of those around them, with little thought to recompense or reward.

In Wales, we have a rich and vibrant community spirit. So I am particularly pleased that many of those we are hearing and reading about today have been recognised as a result of their voluntary or community based work. They truly represent the Big Society in action.

We can all take pride in the many and varied achievements of the successful nominees, whose achievements we rightly celebrate today. Congratulations to you all.
