The Rt Hon David Jones MP

Biography

David Jones was appointed Minister of State at the Department for Exiting the European Union on 17 July 2016. He was elected Conservative MP for Clwyd West in May 2005.

Education

David was educated at Ruabon Grammar School and at University College, London where he studied law.

Political career

Following his election to Parliament in 2005, he held a seat on the Welsh Affairs Select Committee and was co-chairman of the Associate Parliamentary Sustainable Resource Group. He was Shadow Minister for Wales from 2006 to 2010.

David Jones served as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Wales Office from May 2010 to September 2012.

Career outside politics

Before becoming an MP, David was Senior Partner in his own legal practice in Llandudno.

Personal Life

David is married with 2 children. A keen supporter of Liverpool Football Club, his interests include cars and travel.
