Get into the festive spirit by celebrating our Real Winter Wonderlands across the country. Throughout December we will be shining a spotlight on some of our natural treasures and inviting people across the country to do the same.

Launching our very own interactive Advent Calendar, each day we will highlight a different spot of British natural beauty from the New Forest to our Coastal Path.

England is home to many Real Winter Wonderlands that can be enjoyed throughout the year with attractions often hosting magical activities during the colder months. We are encouraging people across the country to explore these places of astounding beauty and enjoy everything they have to offer.

Secretary of State Elizabeth Truss said:

In England, we are incredibly lucky to be surrounded by places of astounding beauty that have a lot to offer, in particular during the winter months. From wonderful walking trails to enchanting grottos hidden in the midst of our forests, there are countless attractions that people can enjoy.

By showcasing these incredible attractions, we hope to boost visitor figures during the winter months, encouraging tourism, and further growing the rural economy, which is already worth more than £210 billion.

As well as posting our Real Winter Wonderlands pictures, we want to hear from you and are asking people across the country to join in by sharing their own images.

How to get involved

Just post your favourite image on twitter and facebook of a beautiful Winter Wonderland using the hashtag #RealWinterWonderland and we will celebrate the best of your images by re-sharing them.
