VMD launches new online contact form today
The form will become the main route for contacting the VMD.
The Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) has today launched a new online contact form on GOV.UK, which will become the primary route for you to contact the organisation.
This new approach replaces multiple email routes that have developed over time, making it easier to ensure enquiries are handled consistently and efficiently.
The contact form replaces the general mailbox (postmaster@vmd.gov.uk) and the call back request form, bringing enquiries into one consistent entry point.
The change aims to help the VMD identify common topics and improve guidance on GOV.UK, making it easier for you to find the information you need.
The contact form can be accessed via the ‘Contact VMD’ page.
What this means for you
The new contact form acts as your first point of contact for:
- general enquiries
- complaints
- Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.
Specialist or operational routes will remain in place. Further guidance is available on the Contact VMD page.
A simpler way to get in touch
If you cannot find what you are looking for in our online guidance, you can submit your query using the contact form.
The VMD aims to respond to general enquiries, complaints and Freedom of Information requests within 20 working days, or sooner where possible.
Once you submit the webform, you will receive confirmation that your enquiry has been logged, and it will then be reviewed and allocated to the appropriate team.
Calling the VMD
The best way to contact the VMD is via the new contact form – this will enable teams to respond to your query as quickly as possible.
If you would like to speak to someone you can ask for a call back when submitting your query via the contact form. However, you may receive an email response if your enquiry can be fully addressed via email, for example if links to guidance are required.
If you need help completing the form, you can still call the VMD on 01932 336911 between 9:30am and 4pm Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays.
For more details on how to call the VMD and/or request a call back, visit the ‘Contact VMD’ page.
Supporting better service for everyone
The new webform provides a clear and consistent way to contact the VMD, supporting our commitment to meet published service standards and customer expectations.
It also aligns with our internal processes and quality and information security standards, including ISO 9001 and ISO 27001.
