On 22 May 2014, Professor Peter Head, CBE FREng, Executive Chairman of The Ecological Sequestration Trust (TEST), presented the latest in a series of engagements designed to harness a new integrated human-ecosystems-economics platform for a more resilient future for Mongolia. The Rt. Hon. Hugo Swire MP, Minister of State for the FCO, joined the event as part of his visit to Mongolia.

Professor Head updated Members of Parliament, Vice Ministers, senior government officials, the Mayor of Ulaanbaatar City, prominent businesses, and representatives from academia, research institutions, and the third sector, on the unique opportunity offered by TEST for high quality inclusive resilient growth for Mongolia. The participants expressed continued support and enthusiasm for the platform and its ability to stimulate investment and regenerate the local economy through green sustainable growth.

In a speech at the event, Mr Swire highlighted that:

Mongolia has great scope to embrace a new level of ecological, sustainable and responsible development with long term rewards for business, industry and the economy… Collaboration between Mongolia and the UK through the Ecological Sequestration Trust enables us to share knowledge and ideas of best practice so that we can seize this global opportunity together.

As in previous events, TEST attracted extensive support from a wide range of stakeholders eager to secure its open-source platform for Mongolia.
