See how science fiction has influenced scientific discovery through a new exhibition at the British Library.

Out of this World, which opens today, journeys through five themes - including alien and parallel worlds - that have provoked hopes, exhilaration and fear in science fiction fans through the centuries.

The exhibition is free, open seven days a week and runs from Friday 20 May until Sunday 25 September 2011.
