School 4, Ulaanbaatar marks International Human Rights Day

The National Human Rights Commission Mongolia launch Human Rights 365 on International Human Rights Day at school 4 in Ulaanbaatar.

The National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia, Youth for Human Rights Club and children of school no. 4 of Ulaanbaatar city celebrated International Human Rights day under this year’s slogan Human Rights 365 - every day is Human Rights Day.

Human Rights commissioner of Mongolia, Mr. Ganbayar Nanzad, congratulated children for being educated on human rights concepts, promoting human rights between peers and friends, and encouraged children to protect their own and friends rights.

School 4 is one of 24 schools in Ulaanbaatar that joined the human rights project ‘We have rights and responsibilities’. As part of the program the children took part in a no of activities. These included a ‘Children and Law’ Q&A competition, ‘Democracy that I know’ essay writing competition in Sukhbaatar district and ‘We have rights and responsibilities’ essay writing competition.

Miss Khongorzul, 12th grade student of school 4 won the first place for ‘We have rights and responsibilities’ essay writing competition. Her essay was dedicated to those children whose basic rights cannot be maintained.

During the event, students also wrote their messages to adults on protecting and promoting children’s rights on a ‘Human Rights Wall’.
