Radiation protection research: Call for stage 1 applications

The Department’s Policy Research Programme (PRP) commissions high quality, research-based evidence.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

The PRP would like to invite applications in the areas of Radiation Protection Research including:

Priority Area 1: Studies to test the linear no threshold (LNT) hypothesis at low (<100mSv) doses

Priority Area 2: How radiation from medical exposures contributes to future cancer risk, particularly in radiosensitive groups

Priority Area 3: Non-cancer effects from ionising and non-ionising radiation exposures

Priority Area 4: Health effects of internal and external radiation sources, and uncertainties in dose coefficients and distributions of different emitters
