She would also apologise to the House in her personal statement. The PM had spoken to her about the matter and supported her.
Asked about the PM’s comments regarding Waitrose, the PMS said the PM was recounting his experience of shopping in various supermarkets.
Asked about the government’s stance on plain packaging, the PMS said there would be a statement in the House later that morning. Sir Cyril Chantler had compiled his report on the matter and had submitted it in the past few days.
Asked for the PM’s approach to immigration levels, the PMS said the PM wanted to see net migration fall to under 100,000.
