Minister for Europe comments on Kolskaya oil rig collapse
Minister for Europe said he was saddened to hear of the deaths of oil workers after the Kolskaya oil rig capsized off Sakhalin on 18 December.
Speaking today he said:
“I was saddened to hear of the death of a number of oil workers after the Kolskaya oil rig capsized off Sakhalin in Eastern Russia on Sunday. Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends of those involved in the tragedy. I commend the efforts of rescue workers who have brought a number of survivors to safety and continue the operation to find others in difficult conditions.”
