Making better use of NHS Supply Chain, Government Procurement Service, and Collaborative Procurement Organisations at a regional or national level. This involves making the NHS aware of what is available and already in place, and highlighting the benefits of using them to their best advantage.

For example via mini competitions and the aggregation and standardisation of products and services. Also ensuring that trusts are equipped to measure the benefits of collaborative arrangements.

A recent case study has been published by NHS Evidence, demonstrating how trusts can improve the procurement of non-medical, non-clinical temporary staff.
