Launch of the National Citizen Service

Tim Loughton welcomes the Prime Minister’s launch of the National Citizen Service pilots for young people.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

Following the Prime Minister’s launch of the National Citizen Service, Children and Young People’s Minister Tim Loughton said:

Young people deserve much more credit for the good that they do in communities across the country - all too often we hear the negative stories, but there are far more examples of young people making a positive difference in their local area. The National Citizen Service will give every young person the chance to bring about positive change in their community and to gain life skills and experience which will benefit them and the wider society for years to come. This is also all about the transition to adulthood, with young people earning recognition and respect for their part in society.
