The King’s Fund has published a report which says that health trusts in London are not implementing essential reforms to improve patient safety and that developing money problems mean that two thirds of trusts are to be viable by 2014.
In response, a Department of Health spokesperson said:
“Under this government the NHS is receiving real terms financial increases every year. This report shows exactly why we have been right to focus on financial and service viability with a minority of Trusts and to work with them so that patients can continue to get the best care, while the NHS is placed on a sound financial footing.”
