As previously confirmed, the Charity Commission is conducting a live compliance case into Kids Company. The case is examining and scrutinising various concerns about alleged financial management and governance issues in connection with the charity.

Our regulatory interest does not end with the closure of the charity. We have been in almost daily regulatory contact with the trustees since the charity announced its closure on Wednesday 5 August.

Our existing actions have been affected by the closure and legal processes currently underway in relation to the liquidation of the charity. A petition for winding up was formally filed by the charity’s trustees at court on Wednesday 12 August under insolvency legislation. We are in contact with a number of statutory and public agencies in connection with these matters, including the Insolvency Service. Until a liquidator has been appointed by the court, we will not be able to provide further details of our regulatory actions and engagement.

At the conclusion of our case, we will be making public our regulatory findings and conclusions, given the public interest in this matter.
